Passive ESG ETF inflows slowed in first half, but assets grew faster than non-ESG
Net flows into passively managed environmental, social and governance ETFs globally slowed in the first half of 2023 but still grew at a faster pace than passive non-ESG ETFs, according to a report by STOXX, a global index provider.

“The overarching story around the components that make up Metaverse still have a very long-term appeal when it comes to growth and innovation,” said Arun Singhal, global head of product management at Qontigo, in an interview with ETF.com.

DAX’s two-year methodology overhaul cements German benchmark’s standing with investors, issuers
The last two years have been among the most eventful in the blue-chip DAX® index’s three-decade life. Qontigo, which manages the German benchmark and its entire family of indices, has since 2020 pursued DAX’s biggest overhaul since its inception. The aim has been to bolster the quality of constituent companies, bring selection criteria in line with international standards and improve representativeness.
Thematic ETFs have seen their biggest decline in assets globally, as assets plunged 6.9 per cent in Q1 driven by negative investment returns.
